Hindi Captions for Videos

CaptionSwift adds automatic captions to short Hindi videos, free, in your browser, with no signup. Add a clip up to 1 minute, choose Hinglish audio, and get captions in Devanagari - with an approximate Roman (Hinglish) version you can switch to in the editor. Fix any mistakes, pick a style, and export a finished MP4 in either script.

Devanagari first, Roman if you want it

For Hindi speech, CaptionSwift's original captions are written in Devanagari. In the editor's "Fix captions" section you get two buttons - Devanagari and Roman - so you can switch the same captions between the two scripts and export whichever you prefer. If your viewers read Hindi in English letters, the Roman version gives you that style; if you want proper Devanagari, it is the original, not a conversion.

The Roman version is approximate - on purpose and on the label

The Roman text is a machine transliteration, and the app says so itself: spelling is not perfect, so check every cue. English words stay English, and Hindi words are spelled the way people type them in chats. If you fix Roman captions and then switch back to Devanagari, the original text is restored and the Roman edits are dropped - so finish one script before exporting.

Handles the Hindi-English mix

Hinglish mixes Hindi and English, sometimes within one sentence - and that mix is exactly what the Hinglish audio option is built for. AI captions can still be wrong, especially names, so read every caption before export; the final words are always yours.

FAQ

Can CaptionSwift write Hindi captions in Devanagari?

Yes. Devanagari is the original output for Hindi speech. In the editor you can also switch to an approximate Roman (Hinglish) version, and you can export the video with either script.

How accurate is the Roman (Hinglish) version?

It is an approximate machine transliteration - the app itself says spelling is not perfect, so read and fix every cue. Switching back to Devanagari restores the original text and drops your Roman edits.

Does it understand mixed Hindi-English speech?

Yes. That mix is Hinglish, which is what the Hinglish audio option is for. AI captions can be wrong, especially names - always read and fix captions before exporting.

Is captioning Hindi videos free?

Yes. Completely free with no signup: 2 successful videos per day per internet connection, each up to 1 minute, and no watermark on the exported video.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

Your original video stays on your device; only its audio is sent for transcription when you use auto captions. The finished captioned video passes through our server only if you use the expiring download link (deleted after one download or about 10 minutes) - choose "Download video on this device" and it never leaves your device. See the Privacy Policy.

Auto captions are machine output and can be wrong. CaptionSwift lets you edit every caption before export so the published video says exactly what you meant.
